Poor Formula, Difficult Application, Nice Color

The formula is so incredibly difficult to work with. It comes out streaky, with dark spots along the nail. You have to barely float the brush just right, otherwise, you are left with an uneven application.
I paint my nails regularly and I am a huge Essie fan. I have at least 42 bottles at this point in time, after cycling through old ones. I am actually surprised this color has such a poor formula and application because I noticed decline in my bottles only after repeated used (usually due to thickening).
I will say, the color is beautiful. If you have the time to meticulously paint extremely thin coats, and slowly do so, then, maybe it would be worth it. You'd just have to love this color. I'd say, you could find a better minty/green/shimmer formula than this though. It is a cross between a pale blue, with a tinge of mint, subtle green tone, with a hint of green/blue/seafoam iridescent.

While a ridge-filling base coat and letting thin layers dry fully can help, we know a manicure shouldn't require this much effort! Bought this a while back and definitely needs 3 coats of polish for it to look good! You could get away with 2 coats but I recommend 3 coats for sure.

I wanted to love this so badly

Pros:
+The colour is gorgeous
+It has a lovely, subtle amount of glitter/sparkle
Cons:
- Wow the streakiest polish I've used in a long time
- not opaque at all - I did three coats and was so disappointed with the patchiness
- Did not dry (and yes, I realize I used three coats but even accounting for that)
Honestly, I tried to return it but it was final sale.

I’m a huge fan of Essie products normally but this polish did not live up to the Essie name. It’s a beautiful color so I was super excited to try it out for my birthday but I needed so many coats and it never fully dried. I ended up completely removing it with polish remover

The color "seas the day" should be a mint sorbet nail polish with a subtle pearl finish. Like all our colors, by the second coat, your color should be perfect. Once all the layers, base coat, 2 coats of color and a top coat are applied it should not take longer for all of your mani to dry. I second an earlier review: the polish is too thin. Sheer polish is one thing, But it looks terrible when sheer. The formula is just so thin that it pools in your cuticles and looks uneven with a coat or two. I saw Essie reply and say 2 coats would do the job, But I promise you it won’t. Even with three or four coats, it still looks uneven in places. It’s a shame because it’s a gorgeous color!

I bought this assuming it would be a light coral-y pink, as in the photos on the 3 different skintones. However, it's actually a really bright Barbie pink, not pale or pastel. These official website swatches are incorrect!

Another Essie disappointment. Why are half their colors so thin? The first coat is incredibly watery. The second coat gives a thicker look but 2/3rds of my nails look streaky no matter how hard I tried not to make streaks.
