They Turned Blue?

I bought this color to be an off-white shade and when I used it on my nails for the first time I quickly realized it was the sheerest shade I’d ever used and so I had to layer it under another white polish I had to get the coverage I was looking for. I used the Essie gel hi-shine top coat to finish the nail look and I was happy with the outcome. Then I wore a blue dress and they started looking ombré, which I can only assume was from the color transferring?

Hello elizzyv44! Thank you for sharing your experience with the color Tuck It In My Tux. We wish you could see the results you were hoping for with this ivory white color. Its not a true sheer nor is it a true opaque creme finish. We're pleased to hear you finally got the coverage with all the layers but we have not heard of color transfer with dried nail enamel. If you would like to speak to us directly about your recent purchase, give us a call @ 866-313-7845 M-F 9 am-5:30 pm ET

BEST milky, creamy white color I've ever used

This is hands down my favorite nail polish color of all time! It's a perfect creamy color and love that it is a little sheer but layers well and is less sheer as you layer, with still a little of the natural nail peeking through. It is truly truly perfection

Streaky and too sheer

I like the idea of sheer, but after trying several times, I cannot create a sheer coat with streaks. To overcome streakiness, I put on 3 or so layers until it was finally even coverage. It looked nice at that point, but then when I went to remove it, it was a total nightmare. I had to scrub with nail polish remover for what felt like at least 10 minutes. Maybe a professional would have success painting on this color. I probably won't use this color again unless desperate.

no, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear that you are seeing streaky results with this shade. We hope you try applying a base coat before applying the color. We will most certainly forward your comments with the rest of the team!

Elegant

Beautiful creamy white. 2 coats did the trick for me. Not streaky at all. Just use a base coat and the push and pull method for color application.

WAY TO LOOK THIN

I bought 8/19/2017 for a wedding. Absolutely horrible. So thin that it was hard to cover my nails. Tried another coat and still too hard to cover nail. Is there a secret to application? Very messy.

no, I do not recommend this product.

Takes Effort

One coat, two coat, three coat, four... This nail polish takes some work and I am not a fan. Pretty color, but incredibly sheer unless you use a lot of coats but it's incredibly sheer and takes forever to dry.

no, I do not recommend this product.

We're sorry to hear the tuck it in my tux does not have as much coverage as you were hoping for. This shade is intended to have a sheer finish. It sounds like you might prefer a similar shade with more coverage. Take a look at the shade urban jungle; http://www.essie.com/Colors/neutrals/urban-jungle.aspx In the meantime, if you would like to speak to us directly, please call us @ 888.448.9617 M-F 9am-5:30pm EST and give the reference number 2545397

Gets hard to apply over time

I bought this product in December (amost a year ago) in order to make a peppermint design on my nails, and over time it got dry, and hard to apply and it was streaky when I first got it, however the color was very pretty. I just don't think a nail polish that is that much money only lasts for a year and about four or five uses.

yes, I recommend this product.

Beautiful color, tricky formula.

Love this color, it's my perfect clean, elegant, summer shade! But...sigh, the formula is a tricky one. I wouldn't describe it as sheer, it can achieve almost full opacity with 3 coats, but it applies very streaky, and that's not easy to eliminate with subsequent (thin) coats. If it wasn't for the challenging application issues, this would hands down be my all-time favorite Essie color, and I've tried many!

no, I do not recommend this product.

Nice white for pale skin tones

I read online that this polish was great for pale skin tones. That review was correct! I've tried a lot of white polishes (Blanc, Urban Jungle), but this one didn't wash out compared to my skin tone. My only complaint is that it takes three coats to get it opaque.

yes, I recommend this product.

AMAZING WHITE

If you are tan and in need of a white that doesn't look like you painted your nails with white out this is it!! It is very sheer, but 3 coats gave me full opacity and no nail lines! This is a jellyish white so if your looking for a very pigmented stark white this isn't it. But I'm so in love and I'm glad I bought this! Essie please never discontinue this color because it is a definite classic for me along with Ballet Slippers!

yes, I recommend this product.

I like it

This was my go to polish that Id get applied on my acrylics. It starts off sheer white and takes about 3 coats so it doesn't look streaky but about a week later it starts to get dull and be more of an off white. But nonetheless I get a lot of compliments on this color

yes, I recommend this product.

Beautiful white, but not too white!

I am blonde and fairly pale and never thought about wearing a white on my nails, even though I'm a part-time manicurist. It was really quiet this past weekend so I was playing around and stumbled across this color I hadn't tried before. I painted a few nails and instantly fell in love! I agree with another poster that I don't find it off-white or cream colored... It's a pretty sheer white, but it's not too white. It looks pretty and clean and I was shocked that it didn't wash out my already pale skin. This is going to be one of my go to colors from now on. I did have to put on three coats to achieve the color I wanted, but it was worth it! I dressed it up with some glitter and nail art too!

yes, I recommend this product.

very very sheer

I was looking for a new white because I ran out of blanc and this polish was the only white they had for Essie in the store. I wish I'd held off and looked into this polish because if I knew it was THIS sheer I wouldn't have bought it. not only is it the most sheer polish I have ever used, it's very streaky; in order to get much color at all AND even out the streaks I need to apply several coats.

no, I do not recommend this product.

Catalogue Model Mani Perfection

You know how catalogue models always have clean looking understated nails? That's what Tuck it in my Tux does for your nails. Pure Perfection! Essie puts out a number of sheers aka jellies and I've tried most since 1998/99 when I started wearing Essie, but Tuck it in my Tux knocks it out of the ballpark! Tuck it in my Tux is my go to clean nails look. It looks off-white or cream in this online image but in real life I don't see that beige/off-white. I would describe the color as a milky white sheer, not at all stark white. Any pink in it is from your own natural nail color that comes through underneath. The first coat like many sheers applies slightly streaky BUT the second coat fixes it and evens it out with out any looking back. I find it opaque in just two coats but I wear my nails very short so that might have something to do with the ease at which I achieve ideal opacity. I searched long and hard to find the ideal sheer/clean catalogue mani look for my pale with both pink and yellow undertones complexion and this is by far the best I've found. I think it would flatter universally.

yes, I recommend this product.

Pretty in bottle...

It was pretty when i ordered in online, but on my nail, it was gooie and weird. It was not a perfect white, more of a tinted clear. It takes many coats to get it to work. but overall, after 3-4 coats, it is a gorgeous white!

no, I do not recommend this product.

Great coral red!

This is a really great red to wear in the summer. It is more of a coral red than an orange red. I probably won't wear it as much in the winter, as I tend to stick to bluish reds during those months. I am super picky about red shades, but this one won my approval as soon as it was on my nails. I did have issues with the formula, but this might be more so an issue with the fact that I was near a heat source when I was applying it, which can sometimes affect the consistency of the polish. This shade is a little more of a true red than Essie's "Watermelon," but I think that the two colors are very similar. Overall, it is one of my favorite reds from Essie!

yes, I recommend this product.
