Worth it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this product. My nails were feeling weak and a bit damaged, and after using Essie To the Rescue, I noticed they felt stronger and looked healthier within a few uses. It goes on smoothly, dries fairly fast, and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky on the nails. I also liked that it gave my nails a clean, polished look even without color. It’s simple to use and fits easily into a routine, especially if you’re trying to recover your nails from gels or just general breakage. It’s not an overnight miracle, but with consistent use, it definitely helps improve nail strength and appearance. I’d repurchase it if my nails started feeling weak again.

MOLDY - don’t buy!

Mold!! I have had this product for less than a week and used it twice..happened to be looking up reviews during my second use and saw a LOT of people mentioning they found mold in their bottle, going back to over a year ago. Held my bottle up and looked at it from below to find that mine also had black mold in it. Disgusting and disappointing considering the cost to buy the product

Shame on Essie

Save your money. Total waste of time. It peels off same day or very next day. I was shocked that Essie would release such an inferior product. Colour is very pretty. Im going back to OPI Nail Envy. Now this is a product that does what it says every single time. Been using it for 15 years and never disappointed. Worth every penny. Essie you need to try again for a nail repair product. This one is a complete failure.

Loved it but mold makes me 2nd guess using it

After using gel polish and soft gel nails for a while I took a break. My nails are naturally thin and peel easy and this Eddie To The Nail Rescue worked wonders. I applied two thin coats (occasionally 3-4 thin coats for more coverage) over the span of a month changing the polish every 3-5 days. My nails are noticeably stronger, and longer than they have been in years! (Current photo is with one thin coat only). However… I am noticing some dark spot on the bottom of the bottle which is not the mixing beads. Is this mold growing in the polish? Never had this in any of the polishes I have had and concerned. None of my other Essie products, OPI, Gelish, and CND polishes (clear or colored) have ever had this. What would cause this mold? I stopped using the bottle as I am concerned of infection. Next bottle I buy I will open in the store to ensure there is no mold as others have noted they have found.

Hi thereMichy1906, it is wonderful to hear that To The Rescue UV Gel Damage Repair has been such a game-changer for your nail strength and growth! Achieving that kind of progress after years of struggling with thin, peeling nails is a huge win.Regarding the dark spots you've noticed in the bottle, we get how concerning that is, especially when it involves the health of your nails. While we cannot provide a definitive laboratory diagnosis, it is worth noting that nail polishes are "anhydrous" (meaning they contain no water), which creates an environment where mold typically cannot grow. Between that and the typical solvents that make up nail colors and treatments, we know it’s not mold. However, your decision to prioritize safety and stop using the bottle is absolutely the right call—especially if it gives you peace of mind. If you would like to speak to us directly about your recent purchase, give us a call @ 866-313-7845 M-F 9 am-5:30 pm ET

Disappointed finding mold in the bottle

Same as so many reviews, very disappointed after purchasing 'Essie to the rescue' just a couple days ago to help with my splitting nails, only to find mold in the bottle. At first I thought it was just the beads, but as you can see that's not the case.

no, I do not recommend this product.

Very cute and helpful product

I bought this product as a nail strengthener/base coat so I cannot speak for whether or not it helps with UV damage. I love regular nail polish and growing out my natural nails and this product helped strengthen my natural nails and its thicker formula helped with smoothing out ridges. My naturals nails are quite bumpy and rigid sadly and this product helped even and level them out real nicely. On its own with a top coat it lasted me around 4 days with minimum chipping which is decent as it kept my nails strong. I love the sheer pink tint in this strengthener as it is my favorite color and is not that subtle. I am currently using this product as a base coat and it is holding up really well. Overall 4/5 as the only issue I ran into is waiting a while to dry but using thin coats and around 10 minutes dry time between each coat makes it perfect.

yes, I recommend this product.

Protects Age Related Ridging!

I don't acrylic or gel my nails but due to my age I suffer from deep ridging that splits some of my nails and is painful. I massage vitamin E oil into my nails and cuticles and leave them for an hour then thoroughly wash & dry my hands. I apply one thin coat of essie "good as new" then 2 thin layers of "to the rescue"; it is very important to let each layer dry thoroughly. The only thing I am careful about is using rubber gloves; otherwise I just do life! It stays on for 4-5 days and protects the deep ridging. My nails look beautiful and natural!

It does work!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Essie’s To The Rescue really does what the name says — it helps bring dry, weak nails back to life. After a few uses, I noticed my nails felt stronger and less brittle. It absorbs quickly, doesn’t feel greasy, and has a clean, pleasant scent. I like that it layers well under polish too, so it fits easily into my regular nail routine. My only small issue is that the bottle is tiny for the price, but overall it’s effective and feels like a real treat for damaged nails.

Terrible — do not buy

Believe the other reviews. This starts to peel within 24 hours, undoing any of the healing it’s done. And to make matters worse, it’s hard to remove, so you’re basically stuck waiting for it to peel off causing further damage along the way.

no, I do not recommend this product.

Yikes! I really loved this product because my nails are thin, bendy, and kind of sharp like baby nails lol. This dries super fast and is a lovely color. I don’t mind that it peels after a few days. But I just noticed a bunch of black mold in my bottle! I took the brush out to be sure I wasn’t just seeing the brush hair but no, big clump of black colored mold or something. And now I see this is like a whole thing and kind of common. I’ve only had this like a week! Second time using it lol! 🫠😫😭

Hi there Ashleeezy, no need for alarm (very helpful video BTW)…what you are seeing in the bottle is the mixing bead that’s added to each bottle to help blend the solvents when the bottle is shaken before each use.

Did the job but molded

It did definitely help. My nails are really damaged after having used gel for the last two years consistently. I bought this five days ago and opened it. I went to reapply today and noticed that my bottle has mold in it. I’m not sure if I got a defect or if that happens after opening it. I’m definitely too scared to use it again and to buy it again, but for the purpose that it had it did work, but it’s a shame that I only got to use it one time. I tried to add an image, but I was not able to.

It does work; technically.

Picked this up because the hype about the product in the beginning convinced me that this would be worth trying. I love a good ridge-filling base coat, especially when it supposedly also does some nice things to my nails. Most products won't actually do what they advertise because recovering your nail health is more about what you're eating, drinking, using cuticle oil, and being gentle on your nails rather than using them as tools. Still - my nails are especially fussy and very thin and bendy, so anything that can safely help give them some strength is good in my books. This product is really good about doing that - it doesn't make your nails harder, but it keeps them strong and bendy while also adding a bit of padding to them, just as described. It can help reduce the surface appearance of splitting and dryness, which is a perk. I find that the formula, while I love its thickness, can be hard to work with when it starts to thicken from repeated use. The directions call for thin coats, which is nearly impossible to do given that this is basically a natural nail polish version of a gel rubber base. The trick I've found that helps me apply thinner coats is by pressing the brush fan down so that it fans out across my nail before I do about two to three swipes. Try to work quickly because this product does start to dry fast - it just takes awhile to dry completely. Depending on the thickness of your coat, you may have to wait longer than 10 minutes for complete dryness. Overall, I think it accomplishes what it sets out to do. I would love to see this in other tones, like more neutrals, a pink, or even a white or a black.

yes, I recommend this product.

I'm done doing the "gel nail polish" and just had the last of it removed two days ago. My nails are in bad shape of course. Found this Rescue UV Gel Damage Repair hoping it would help. Took forever and a day for it to dry! Did two coats which took even longer to dry. The next day, it began peeling away from my nail. Second day (today), only three of my nails has this gel damage repair polish on. Very disappointed!

Visibly Repaired Nails

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical of this working, but beyond pleasantly surprised when it transformed my horribly damaged nails in just 5 days. I've had dip powder on my nails for almost 3 years straight with very short breaks in between and my nails were thin, cracked/peeling, and very fragile. This polish has nearly completely repaired the damage done in those 3 years time. Will continue to use for several more months to give my nails a much needed break.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this product because I have brittle nails and I bite them. The polish its self is very quick drying which is a plus, it also has metal beads inside to keep the product mixed properly. It has your average nail polish sent. It is easy to remove or apply and build up the color. It’s super shiny though so if you were hoping for a more natural finish this may not be for you!
