nice colour but can only apply one layer

really really awesome colour. But there is no way to apply the second layer because the first layer gets melted by the second. I don't know if I got a defective one, or something wrong with the formula. Before you tell me to wait however long, I waited for 12 hours, there is no way that the nail polish is not dried. Other than that, easy to apply, and pretty fast to dry. Very nice colour but don't last because you can only get one layer on. It's great if you just want it for a party night.

Love the Color!

I just bought this and I love it! It was so darn hard to find a blue toned red nail polish with a little sparkle in it. Most red polishes tend to be on the orange side these days, and as a silver haired woman with a pinkish toned complexion, I tend to go for cooler, blue toned makeup and polish. As a dinosaur relect from the 70's, I love my frosts and glitter. Thank you for solving my problem in Knotty Or Nice! I love it!!!!

yes, I recommend this product.

Gorgeous Color - Chips Within a Day

I did the recommended. I put a base coat, two layers, and a top coat, and this still chips within two days tops. I'm really sad about this cause the color is GORGEOUS. But I think it might be with how they make their glitter polishes because all of them tend to chip right away. Again, beautiful color but I'm not sure what can be done to make these last. I have no issues with other essie products.

no, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there Nancydfan! We want to understand what happened just as much as you do...the blue toned red polish with glitter, "knotty or nice" should last at least a week when applied the way you have. The base coat should create better adhesion to the nail bed and the top coat should protect the color and seal the manicure. Be sure to cap the edges of the nail at each step. Horrible

Hi there Kathryn! We can see why these results would not be what you were hoping for. The shade "making spirits bright" is a silver glitter based nail enamel. To remove a nail color with glitter, you need to soften the nail enamel holding on the bits of glitter (the glitter itself is not actually nail enamel so the remover won't soften it) Soak your cotton pad in polish remover, then allow it to sit on the nail for 30 seconds before removing. this should be long to soak around the glitter to soften the nail enamel. For particularly stubborn glitter go for 2-3 minutes and gently push the glitter away from the nail with a metal pusher or orangewood stick, similar to how you would push back cuticles.

Awesome color. Terrible durability

I took all the steps. Dry nails base, two coats topcoat. Beautiful jewelry like color. But after just one day started to chipping badly in most of the nails. Tried again making sure it was not an issue with the technique. Sadly same exact poor result :(

Hi there Sara! We want to understand what happened just as much as you do...After you’ve done a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat, your manicure should last for at least a week. Making sure your nail bed is clean before doing yoiur mani can be tricky. To get rid of any oils and other residue, be sure to swipe the nails with your polish remover just before doing your manicure. (avoid the temptation to touch the nails with your fingers at this point). If you would like to speak to us directly about your recent purchase, give us a call @ 866-313-7845

Looks great, for about a day...

The polish itself goes on realty thin and clumpy. I used an Essie base coat, and let my polish dry for a minimum of 30 minutes between coats. The polish smudges very easy even after "dry" and goes on thin so you need at least 3 coats to have it be a "solid" color. Am disappointed overall, just doesnt feel up to the essie standard.

no, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there Jackie! We want to understand what happened just as much as you do...We assume you shook your polish just before using. Like all our nail enamels, the "making spirits bright" should be a perfect color by the second coat. This soft, cool-toned silver glitter polish should have some texture because of the glitter, but the color results should be even. And certainly, after a few minutes, the nail enamel should be dry. Great Pigmentation and a BEAUTIFUL Color

My mom bought this for me for Christmas and I am in LOVE with it. It is so well pigmented and is a very nice metallic. Even so, it does not look bad wearing everyday. I have to say I disagree with reviews saying it was hard to apply. I hope this isn't seasonal, great job, Essie!!!!

Colour looks stunning in the bottle, however it barely lasts two days with a good Essie base coat without chipping or falling off completely. The glitters are also barely noticeable once on the nail. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend.

Hi there Kcam412! We can see why these results would not be what you were hoping for. The glitter green color"under wraps" should look flawless by the second coat. After you’ve painted a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat, you should sit for about 15 minutes to dry your nails completely. Your manicure should look great for at least a week. Pro tip: To keep the shine and wear at its best, reapply your top coat every 2 days.

HORRIBLE

I have been using Essie polishes exclusively for years. Bought this silver glitter polish and was excited to use for the holidays. I applied one coat and IT NEVER DRIED. Several hours later I had to remove it and use a different color. It also applied very unevenly with a lot of glitter on one hand and not as much on the other. Oh my gosh - I cannot understand how this company can let a product this horrible make it to store shelves. I wasted my hard-earned money on this polish and had to throw it away. VERY disappointed.

I purchased this as part of the winter 2019 set of 4 mini polishes. I think I like the red and green colors better. This color is very pretty but after 3 coats, you can still see my nail. I may try this again on top of another polish. Still pretty and nice sparkles!

So disappointing--holiday manicure ruined!

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I was so excited to try this color, and selected it yesterday at the nail salon for a professional manicure. I watched the nail technician apply it carefully and precisely, hugging each tip, using base and top coat. This morning, several nails are chipped terribly and I will need to remove it already (after less than 24 hours of VERY light wear). For reference, my Essie manicures generally last about one full week. I'm so upset; such a waste of time and money. Ladies, please don't let this inferior product ruin your holiday manicure like I did:(

Hi there Ivana! We can see why these results would not be what you were hoping for. The shade "knotty or nice" is a bright, blue-toned red nail enamel with glitter. Once applying a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat your manicure should last for well over a week. Always avoid soaking nails in water before a manicure. Nail plates are porous and absorb water, making them temporarily more flexible and less curved. Once the nail dries, as the nail plate flexes back the polish can easily chip or peel. So kep the nails dry at least 30 minute prior to using your polish to avoid this. Also clean any lingering oils, soaps or moisturizer from the nails with your polish remover right before doing your manicure. If you would like to speak to us directly about your recent purchase, give us a call @ 866-313-7845

This nail polish is HORRIBLE!!!! I️ am a huge essie fan and only wear their nail polish but this lasted less than a day on my nails before chipping which was a major let down and will NOT come off for the love of god. I️ almost destroyed my nails trying to remove it. I bought two bottles and lost the reciept so I don’t think I can return it anymore. I’ll be throwing them out. Not worth it. Disappointing, Essie.

Hi there Ari! We can see why these results would be disappointing. The shade "let it bow" is a cool winter white glitter nail polish. After you’ve painted a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat, your manicure should look great for at least a week. Glitter nailcolor can be more stubborn to remove. For best results soak your cotton pad in polish remover, then allow it to sit on the nail for 30 seconds before removing. This gives the polish below the glitter a chance to soften and dissolve so you can wipe away the color and glitter. Gently push any remaining glitter away from the nail with a metal pusher or orangewood stick, like you would push back cuticles. Clumpy!

I saw this whole holiday collection and had to have it for my little girls and myself who love to do our nails together! Received it today and thought I would give it a try and while it’s gorgeous in the bottle it is sticky and clumpy to put on. Does not look or appear smooth and although I think it will be hard to get off because of the glitter I don’t think it will have long last results due to the difficulty of application. I hope when I receive the other bottles they aren’t like this one.

Hi there NorthwoodsMama! We want to understand what happened just as much as you do...The shade "making spirits bright" is a cool-toned silver with glitter, but, like all essie nail enamels, it should flow effortlessly onto the nail bed and by the second coat your results should be flawless. Glitter based nail colors can take a little more effort to remove. For the best results, soak your cotton pad in polish remover, then allow it to sit on the nail for 30 seconds before removing. For particularly stubborn glitter, wrap the nail for 2-3 minutes with the soaked pad and gently push the glitter away from the nail with a metal pusher or orangewood stick, similar to how you would push back cuticles. We're glad the no place like chrome nail color holds on so well, however, we're sorry its such a challenge for you to remove. The micro bits of silver create a super metallic look but the mini silver flakes create a bit of a barrier to the nail bed. The best way to remove a metallic nail enamel like this is to give the nail polish remover some time to seep down the nail bed to soften the nail enamel. Soak your cotton ball with your nail polish remover and place over your nail. Now count to 30. This will give the enamel at the nail bed a chance to soften, then just gently wipe away the nail color. If you would like to speak to us directly about your last purchase, please call us @ 866-313-7845 M-F 9am-5:30pm EST and provide the reference number 2704901

I tried Nothing Else Metals about four years ago trying to replace a brand and color i had worn for years but now was retired. Love at first sight! Fabulous reflexive color that glides on smoothly and stays for weeks. I get many compliments on this shade with sandals in Florida. In fact, I sent a bottle to rural Montana where my brother will stripe his yellow street rod with it. Nothing else gores on my toes!

Silver, Precious Silver

Simply stated, I adore this delectable shade. I just can't get enough of it! In order to achieve a smooth appearance, I follow these steps: (1) apply a good base coat to clean, dry nails and allow it to dry completely; (2) apply a moderate first coat and allow it to dry completely for approximately one hour (yes, 60 minutes); (3) apply a solid second coat that is a bit thicker than the first coat and allow it to dry completely for approximately one hour (yes, another 60 minutes); and (4) apply Essie's top coat (don't skimp) and allow it to dry completely. For best results, don't allow your nails to touch or be touched by anything at all during the entire process until Step 4 has dried - completely! Exercise patience and you will reap the dividends of a beautiful manicure.

This really is not one of essie best polishes but it is definitely not the worst! I goes on nicely in one coat but it is very streaky and when you put on another layer to cover up the streaks it just adds more. But it's been holding up pretty well! I had it on for about a week now and there is only a minimal amount of chipping. To other people it looks beautiful because you can't really see the streaks until your'e very close. So if you want a polish other people will love and your have the strength to not be bothered by the way it looks up close then this is the polish for you!

I love this polish. It really lasts too and stays shiny. It looks good on my fair skin. I tend to be a Fiji girl and just bought this on impulse. It was on a display with a few dark colors for fall. I thought, "Oh, dark is in just great!, that metallic one is the only one I can stand, hmm, maybe I should try it". I wasn't at all sure about it. I brought it to my next pedicure and I decided I love it. I have looked at other metallics and this is great. Not just metallic, but purple too. I think it is pretty dark on me, but I think it's beautiful. Thanks, Essie!
